Euthanasia Services for Pets

Giving your loyal companion a dignified and pain-free end to their suffering.

Euthanasia is a pain-free medically assisted death recommended to end an animal's suffering. It's hard to make this decision for your cat or dog as this means you'll have to say your final goodbye. When pets have a debilitating disease with chronic pain sometimes euthanasia is the final gift you can give them. We want to ensure that you have all the answers you may need in this difficult time here at our hospital. Call us at 705-431-5570 if you have any questions.

How do I know if my pet needs to be euthanized?

Your veterinarian will recommend euthanasia when your loyal companion's quality of life is poor. This means your pet is slowly avoiding normal activities such as eating, playing, or being affectionate. This usually happens when a patient is at the end of their life due to a chronic illness or severe pain from trauma. Euthanasia is meant to give your pet relief when it's considered inhumane for them to continue living in pain.

Can I be present during the procedure?

Yes. Pet owners have the option to be present during euthanasia. Our clients can also choose to say their goodbyes before the procedure and leave their companion with us. There is no judgment here; we know everyone handles death differently. Whatever feels right to you is just fine.

What happens after my pet is euthanized?

We usually discuss with pet owners their options after euthanasia. You can choose to bury or cremate their remains. We can provide more information on cremation services if you wish. We will also discuss different ways you can memorialize your pet, so you will always have something to remember them by.
